Details sparse in fatal crash on I-470

On Behalf of | May 12, 2017 | Car Accident

An accident near Interstate 470 and Highway 40 left one person dead and three vehicles damaged. The police are still investigating the incident but it appears that the driver of a Chevy Silverado lost control of the vehicle and it collided with a vehicle in the opposite lane of traffic. A third vehicle was then rolled up in the accident. Few other details have been provided in relation to this crash, so all we can really do is speculate at this point.

Was there some sort of mechanical malfunction with the Silverado, causing the vehicle to go out of control? If so, then there could be a product liability case involved in this situation.

More likely, though, is that the driver was negligent in some way. Was the driver distracted by a cellphone or by some other screen? Was the driver intoxicated in some way? Was the driver fatigued or did he or she fall asleep at the wheel? These are, unfortunately, common reasons for why a car accident occurs. The victims in these accidents absolutely need to consult with a car accident lawyer to ensure that their case proceeds in a timely and proper fashion.

Car accidents are serious events in anybody’s life that could cause terrible, catastrophic or, in this case, fatal injuries. When negligence can be proven or if reckless behavior was exhibited by one of the drivers, justice must be swiftly served.
