Four people were taken to the hospital after their vehicle was struck in Lawrence, Kansas over the weekend. The wreck occurred in the early morning hours when the four people were trying to push their stalled car out of the street. As they were doing this, another vehicle crashed into their car. Two of the people sustained serious injuries, while no details were provided about the other two involved in the crash.
Few other details have been made public about the crash, which is a shame because the vehicle that crashed into the stalled one fled the scene. The hit-and-run driver has now made this a criminal investigation because it is illegal to flee the scene of an accident. When someone flees the scene of an accident like this — one where people were seriously injured — they deprive the accident victims of critical medical care and assistance, which could be life saving in the end.
Hit and run accidents are obviously serious in nature, and sadly, not every fleeing driver is caught. But many are, and in these situations, it is imperative for the victims to consider legal help to protect their interests.
A personal injury lawsuit against the hit and the run driver could earn you the compensation you need to deal with the medical trauma you suffered as a result of the accident. With legal help on your side, your case will have a much better chance at succeeding.
