Wrong way driver causes fatal wreck in Kansas City

On Behalf of | Dec 26, 2017 | Car Accident

A fatal accident on Highway 71 in Kansas City, Missouri left the highway closed for a couple of hours as the police investigated and cleared the scene. Unfortunately, few details are available for this accident. What we do know is that one of the vehicles drove down Highway 71 the wrong way. There is no information about the other people involved in the crash, let alone what the police are thinking ultimately led to the driver operating his or her vehicle the wrong way on a highway.

Given all of this, speculation is going to run rampant. For one thing, wrong way drivers often exhibit behaviours that are illegal (outside of the obvious fact that they are driving the wrong way). Usually, these drivers are intoxicated or are distracted in some way. Regardless of the ultimate reason, they are driving their vehicle in an unbelievably dangerous and negligent manner.

Wrong way wrecks often result in terrible accidents too, which also isn’t a surprise. Any collision that involves two powerful vehicles colliding head-on at high speeds is bound to cause some serious damage, both to the vehicle and, more importantly, to the people in them.

Accidents like this are so preventable and upsetting. Victims of any car accident will be deservedly outraged, but the victims in accidents like in this story will think that all of their pain and suffering never should have happened in the first place. It is in these cases that justice must be served.
